This project is part of a clinical
improvement program focused on using all available clinical data (medical
records, labs, pathology, radiology, etc.) to monitor individual patient care.
The program combines data processing capabilities such as natural
language processing (NLP), complex event processing, and rule evaluation to
organize and enrich healthcare data stream and derive actionable insights.
Our existing team is expanding and
we are looking for a Terminology Analyst with healthcare experience
needed to support data governance and terminology management effort for a
major healthcare system. The environment includes several terminology
management related tools and services and are responsible for the acquisition
and distribution of:

External terminologies (e.g., ICD-9 CM, LOINC, RxNorm, SNOMED CT)
•
Internal terminologies (e.g., local lab codes and procedure codes)
• Clinic
developed data standards (e.g., Clinic Problem List, Race, Ethnicity,
Body Structures)
•
Mappings between terminologies (e.g., Problem List codes mapped to ICD-9 CM,
ICD-10 CM, and SNOMED CT).
• Value
sets (e.g., asthma-related ICD codes)
Client has an established
process from content procurement/authoring to dependency checking, versioning,
promotion, and publication. The process is sophisticated and technical, and
requires a high degree of attention to detail, understanding of systems and
data, and complex analysis and problem solving.
Skills Needed:
Business/Data Analyst – demonstrated
skills and experience in requirements gathering, data analysis, Data
Quality, facilitation, communication, coding/standards, and data modeling.
Will be joining a team to build out the diagnosis calculator in
EPIC. Epic certification not required but experience may be nice for this
person will be working with the team that formats the data to give to the “EPIC
team” at the Client.
This person will be working with
healthcare industry standard terminology formats and how they are translated
into the Client’s data needs. The BA skills will come from
analyzing the needs of the projects and aligning to data terms available.
Must be able to analyze data quality so that any translations are
accurate.
